

IL-IX Peering Policy
IL-IX (Israeli Internet Exchange Point) operates as a neutral and independent Layer 2 Internet Exchange open to all networks, regardless of type or size, under the following joining policy.
1. Eligibility
IL-IX welcomes connections from:
- Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
- Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)
- Cloud providers
- Hosting companies
- Enterprises
- Research and education networks
- Any organization with its own public Autonomous System Number (ASN)
All members must hold a valid, globally routable ASN and have at least one public IPv4 or IPv6 prefix announced in the global BGP routing table.
2. Connection Requirements
Physical connections:
- Physical connections: 1G, 10G, 100G, 400G (depending on available ports and technical setup).
- Members must arrange a cross-connect to the IL-IX switch fabric at one of the participating data centers.
- Only one MAC address per port unless otherwise negotiated.
3. Technical Requirements
- BGP sessions must be established between the member and either the route servers or directly with other members.
- Members must ensure their equipment and configurations comply with IL-IX technical standards, including:
- - No spoofing or flooding.
- - No proxy ARP.
- - Proper use of BGP communities (if applicable).
- - Maintaining up-to-date IRR and/or RPKI records.
4. Peering Policy Type
Type IL-IX operates under an open peering policy:
- All eligible networks are welcome to connect
- Peering is optional but encouraged
- Members can peer via the route servers or bilaterally
5. Fees
- 1G port: Free for first 24 months.
- 10G port: Free for first 12 months.
- 100G / 400G ports: Custom pricing available.
- Optional services (e.g., upstream connectivity to Europe/US) are available at additional cost.
6. How to Join
- 1. Submit an application via the (https://il-ix.net)
- 2. IL-IX staff will review the request, provide a Letter of Authorization (LOA), and assist with cross-connect arrangements.
- 3. Once connected, BGP sessions can be established, and the member will be listed (optionally) on the IL-IX website.
